Obituaries


Rev. Leonard (Len) Corbett, 60, died Nov. 15, 2013. He served St. Paul’s, Brunkild, MB; St. Paul’s Anglican, Churchill, MB while department head with Outreach Services. He moved to High Prairie, AB, to serve as a mental health worker and then trained as a nurse in geriatric and skin and wound care.


Rev. Dr. Arnold Hagen, 93, died on Jan. 12 in Camrose, Alta. He served in Prince Albert, Sask. 1950–52; Vancouver, 1952–62; as President of Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute, Camrose, 1962–85, and after retiring, Kingman/Round Hill, Alta., 1985–93. In later years he led Bible studies in Camrose retirement homes and Sunday services around central Alberta and did both in Mesa, Arizona as well.


Rev. Robert William Leeson, 66, died Dec. 24, 2013, in Regina. He served a three-point parish in Wynyard, SK, 1975–1981, and Christ, Regina, 1981–2013.


Winnifred (Winn) Johanna Voigts, 85, died Feb. 5 in Saskatoon. Winn and her husband Rev. Donald Voigts welcomed hundreds of Lutheran students into their home at campuses in Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. They were tireless in their support of Lutheran campus ministry in Canada and of the church.
