In Mission for Others

The ELCIC, through its partnership with Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR), is appealing to members for financial support for humanitarian aid to assist the people of Japan.

The biggest earthquake to hit Japan since records began 140 years ago struck the northeast coast on March 11, generating a 10 meter tsunami that swept away everything in its path and killed at least 10,000 people. 350,000 people are living in evacuation sites at the moment.

Ecumenical & International Life

In possibly the most significant legacy of the Eleventh Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation (July, 2010), the LWF took the historic step of asking the Mennonites for forgiveness for past persecutions.

The ELCIC and Mennonite Church Canada jointly prepared a congregational study guide. Healing Memories, Reconciling in Christ offers a four-session study process primarily for groups of both Lutherans and Mennonites and which may be adapted in a variety of ways for local use.

Faith & Worship

Produced by the Joint Anglican-Lutheran Commission, the Anglican-Lutheran Cycle of Prayer (2010-2011) is designed for use in communities of the Anglican Church of Canada and ELCIC.

For each Sunday, there are intentions for specific dioceses, synods and/or groups. While we pray for our world and neighbours without ceasing, we are invited to pray especially for our Anglican sisters and brothers with whom we are in full communion.
