Is Project Rasmus doing what it was meant to do? Looking back into the records, Rasmouse discovered that the initial goal was to enhance communication between members, parishes, pastors, Synod and National Offices, committees and partners in ministry, as well as to witness to the global community.
Today, National and Synod Offices share databases, communicate by email, and use discussion sites for various interest groups. Growing lists of email addresses will open that communication to more committees and individuals.
A growing group of people is using this efficient database. Information is current and dependable. Communication has been enhanced. Goal #1—check!
The web site has grown from 30 pages in 1999 to over 500. Information posted there is faith-focussed and useful to anyone needing support materials. Resources created in one synod are available to all. Our directory of Lutheran-related links is not duplicated anywhere else in the world.
The average number of "hits" (files requested) per day has increased from 1,193 to 2,322. Most visited is the Synod, Congregations and Ministries page…are readers looking for a church home? Recent Updates and News Releases rank high, too. People want to know the latest news. Seasonal pages see high use. The church can be a support in people's daily lives. We are definitely witnessing. Goal #2—check!
