Who was Rasmus?

This project is named after Rasmus Jensen, the first Lutheran pastor in North America.

Pastor Jensen was the chaplain of an expedition sent in the spring of 1619 by King Christian IV of Denmark and Norway to search for the Northwest Passage to India. The expedition landed on the shore of Hudson Bay at the present day site of Churchill Manitoba in the fall of 1619.

His commemoration date is February 20.

This is a summary of the discussion of the contact list application by the bishops, the representatives of the synod offices, and the representatives of congregations who met in Winnipeg June 16-18.

Need to add a field for identifying if the address for this person is a HOME, WORK or OTHER address. The automatic address updating from congregational membership databases will only update the HOME address document of a contact with a matching unique ID number.
Need to have a view which groups selected people by whether or not they have an email address
Need to add fields to capture congregations/synod/conference information if applicable
Need to add a field for capturing a family salutation in case the mailing is intended to go out to a household rather than being addressed to that individual.
