Explanation and Directions for Faith Journey Scrapbook
(Seeking and Sharing Faith Stories, 1993 ELCIC)
Faith is a gift that remains basically the same throughout your life. As you journey from birth to death, your faith goes through many stages. The way you look at your faith becomes enriched, deepened, strengthened. During the journey you discover the complexity and implications of your faith.
When we travel, we like to collect snapshots, postcards, maps, brochures that remind us of things that happened, people we met, or places we visited on the journey. Often we put these mementos into scrapbooks that we can look at and share with others. The "Faith Journey Scrapbook" gameboard provides a focus for the sharing of faith stories.
(two to four players)
You will need the gameboard and several buttons, each one unique.
Choose a button to represent your faith. Place your faith button on the item you would like to share, no two on the same position. Take turns sharing: describe the situation and how it contributed to your faith growth. How did God act in your life at that time?
When all have shared, move all the buttons to different positions. Again, no two should be on the same spot, but you may reuse a spot someone chose before.
Continue as time allows.
