As a part of Celebration Sunday, Madeleine Dahl from Sweden worshipped with the congregation of Sherwood Park Lutheran Church in Winnipeg.
Her driver that day, Hank Fast, asked Madeleine and the others in his car if there was anything special they would like to do or see on the way to the church.
Madeleine was quick to reply, "I'd like to pick some flowers."

Assembly participants had been encouraged to wear their national dress that day and in Sweden it is common to wear a wreath of fresh flowers. Where was she to find some?
Hank, not sure that Winnipeg city parks would approve of someone picking from their displays, drove instead to his own backyard where Madeleine found many blossoms. She wove them together and wore them for the rest of the day. What a wonderful story of international cooperation!
