Margaret Christenson

Congregation:

Zion, Sault Ste Marie, ON

Past Experience:

Past member and chair of World Mission Committee, present member of Bd. of Governors of Waterloo Luth. Seminary. Member of Church Council and several committees over the years.

Gifts:

I have degrees in Political Science and Canadian Studies. I am recently retired after 15 years in the city library system. I am in my 29th year with Girl Guides of Canada where I have held several positions. I presently volunteer with Program Read, an adult literacy organization.

Issues of Concern:

I am interested in seeing more cooperation between denominations. The Anglican/Lutheran Accord was a good first step. I am interested in furthering Church involvement in social justice issues, at home and abroad. Homelessness, HIV/AIDS and health care and education issues ie public funding of post-secondary.

Hopes for the Church:

I hope for recruitment of enough people (lay and clergy) to be trained for future needs of the ELCIC and it's congregations and enough funds to provide the training.

In full communion with The Anglican Church of Canada
