St Matthew's East Zorra, ON
Prior to becoming ordained, I worked as a Financial Planner which included recommending health and disability plans to self-employed individuals and strategic asset allocation. I have worked on several different committees both at the local church level and in the private sector. I also worked in the social services field with people who have developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
I am thorough in my work, plan ahead to ensure success with projects, and communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with team members. I am well organized and a good researcher. My undergrad studies were in the area of political science and business administration.
I believe that the church is called in all its work and endeavours to demonstrate the power and grace of God in our lives and our faith communities in all that we undertake, including the provision of health and other benefits to those employed by the ELCIC. The church is called to strive to be good stewards while being generous and compassionate to those in its care and around the world.
After serving as a pastor for four years and Campus Ministry chaplain for 10 months, I think we are facing a critical time in our church's history. But in spite of crisis in many of our congregations and on campus it is an exciting time to be in ministry. This is a great time of opportunity and creativity and God is calling us to rise to the occasion. How will ministry evolve in our congregations and on our campuses in the immediate future and over the next 5-10 years? I pray that God will dispel our fears and give us courage to bring his kingdom into the world as he directs and guides us.
