Here are just a few of the delegates that have given generously of their time and talents to represent the people of the ELCIC in convention.
There are three members of the Skriver family who are delegates at this convention.
Calvin is pastor at Bawlf Lutheran Church east of Camrose. He serves three churches which were started by Norwegian immigrants: Zion, Bawlf and Skudeness. He is a second career pastor who was ordained four years ago. He and his wife Lori have four children.
Calvin's father, Bob, represents Advent Lutheran in Calgary. He has been to three synod conventions but this is his first national convention. He has served as treasurer and secretary at his previous church, Faith in Calgary. He is looking forward to getting a picture of the larger church, seeing people he knows from various places, experiencing the worship services and is interested in the decisions regarding Augustana.
Bob's brother and Calvin's uncle, Ken, represents Bethany congregation in Tilley, Alberta, a small rural town in southeastern Alberta. This was a Danish settlement in the "new land." Ken is in charge of the congregation's cemetery and has been on the church council more often than not.
