If we are to take action to address issues of poverty and injustice it is important that we also come to know these issues. Love involves wisdom. At the same time love also involves resources, resources that we can use and resources that we can give to others to use. Click on the link to learn about issues that we are working to address and discover resource which you can use as we engage this work together.

Pre-Authorized Giving (PAG)
Pre-Authorized Giving to GHDA is one way to make giving to GHDA both easier and more regular. To promote PAG for GHDA in your congregation we have developed a PAG bulletin insert to assist you.
2006 GHDA Brochure
The following brochure has been made available to provide information and awareness of the ministry we all share through GHDA. While copies of this brochure are available through the National Office (orders@elcic.ca), the following link has been made available in a format that is easily printable in either colour or black and white.

ELCIC - GHDA A Christmas For Others
Looking to give an unforgettable gift for Christmas this year? Give your family and friends gifts they won't forget! Make a donation to GHDA and send along a special card to the gift recipient to let them know how their gift will help give A Christmas For Others. A set of six gift cards has been designed to be used for Christmas gifts that are given in honour of someone else to the ELCIC Global Hunger and Development Appeal.

How to use the gift cards
Print the .pdf files from the above link as a double-sided document, or print and photocopy as a double sided document, then cut out each card separately. Print the cards on heavier card stock paper and use them 'as is' or include in a store-bought or homemade card. Be creative and think of ways to use these templates to create your own Christmas cards, perhaps with a picture of you or your family as a special gift.
Gifts from the Heart
Through Canadian Lutheran World Relief, the service delivery arm of the ELCIC’s Global Hunger and Development Appeal, you can give a gift that warms the hearts of family and friends while helping those in need elsewhere in the world. For each gift you select, you will receive a card to personalize and forward to your loved one. A charitable donation will also be provided to you. More…

Study What Our Faith Has to Say about Justice
From the beginning God has called God’s faithful to Justice. To clearer calls has been proclaimed than Micah’s proclamation “What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God.” There is much we can still learn about how God has called God’s people to justice in the past and how God continues to call us today.
Below are some resources for our personal group study.
Worship Resources
Don't Take Life for Granted
Don't Take Life for Granted is a package of worship resources for use in congregations. Collected by GHDA national staff, they are free for you to download, copy and use as best suits your congregation. Their theme of thankfulness would be very appropriate for Thanksgiving Sunday, but could be used at any time. (.pdf file)
Lenten Resources
GHDA has collaborated with partner Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) to produced resources which may be used to guide your Lenten discipline of prayer and reflection. May they be signs of the renewal we look to in the Easter Resurrection. The following resources may be viewed online, downloaded, or print versions may be requested .
Looking Back
Need information about a project once featured on this site? Looking Back is a collection of older stories. Please note their dates carefully. Although this provides a good history of GHDA, the programs may no longer be viable.
