The 2005 Congregational Report
We greatly appreciate the effort and care that is put into preparing the annual congregational report. The data gathered forms a mirror in which we can glimpse a reflection of our part of the body of Christ. The annual report allows us to take stock of all that has happened over the past year and hold it up against the backdrop of the data collected in previous years.
In an attempt to continually collect the most pertinent information, some changes have been made to the form you will receive this year.
What's New for 2005!
"Find a Congregation" on the ELCIC website allows your congregation to invite visitors to your church. To provide a complete picture, we are asking for information about wheelchair accessibility, child care and worship languages. If you have already submitted such information, just check over the report and make corrections as needed.
The instructions for completing the congregational report have been competely rewritten and can be downloaded from http://www.elcic.ca/form. Or request a printed copy from mkrieger@elcic.ca or 888.786.6707 ext 155 (in Winnipeg 984.9155)
New questions will monitor staffing needs from year to year, particularly the number of congregations without sufficient called pastoral leadership. This vital information will be used by synodical, national and seminary leaders to assess on-going needs and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies for both the recruitment and retention of rostered ministers.
Additional copies of the forms can be downloaded from http://www.elcic.ca/form. The compiled information will be available in the Statistics section of the website accessible from the drop-down menu.
