
WANTED: Lutheran writers!
Canada Lutheran magazine, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) and Augsburg Fortress Canada invite Lutheran writers to submit entries for "LutheransWrite Canada 2004" a writing competition designed to encourage Lutheran writing and journalism.
Write a non-fiction essay or short story that reflects the vision of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada to be "A Church for Others." This can be a personal experience related to the theme or an exploration of any or all of the three strategic directions of the Church. Entries must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2004.
Category 1 - Open
Open to all ages - One submission of 2000-3000 words per applicant.
Category 2 - Youth
Under age 30 - One submission of 1000-2000 words per applicant.
Awards
Awards will be presented for the top three submissions in each category. First place - $500, Second place - $250, Third place - $100. Awards will be presented at the 2005 ELCIC National Convention in Winnipeg. Winning entries will be published in Canada Lutheran magazine during 2005. Winners will be announced April 30, 2005 on the ELCIC website.
