April 2003

We know what it's like. You get busy and forget to check http://www.elcic.ca for new and interesting resources. Also, as our website grows, it takes longer to check out all the information.

E–Communiqué, our free e–mail bulletin, will appear in your email in–box approximately every 9 weeks, alerting you to new and seasonally–appropriate resources on the ELCIC website.

Follow the live links in this bulletin to read, print, cut and paste or link to other sites. If you prefer to receive the resources in print, order using the information below.

We encourage you to send us the email addresses of other leaders in your congregation who could benefit from this information. Of course, you can stop receiving it at any time by sending us the message "Unsubscribe E–Communiqué" with your first and last name and/or the name of your church and city.

Our E–Communiqué is catching on and getting longer. Save time by skimming our list of topics. Continue only if they are of interest to you.

Below you will find:

  • LWF Assembly update – study guides, prayer request, a reproducible map
  • Stewardship news – new web pages and on–line resources, drama and Bible study suggestions, next sample packet soon in your mailbox
  • Youth – video, on–line resources, service opportunities
  • Worship – Holy Week and Easter resources

Women's Desk (back to top)

Are you a delegate to the ELCIC National Convention June 11–15? Plan to attend the Women's Luncheon there–a time for men and women to gather and reflect on women's issues in the church and to build strong working relationships as we serve together in the church. Your hosts will be Ruth Vince, ELW Executive Director and Elaine Sauer, Assistant to the National Bishop for Synodical Relations.

Reminder

Has your Parochial Report been completed and sent to your Synod Office? Deadline was February 28 and the data is crucial to good record keeping, communication and idea sharing.

Mousepad

Coming to the ELCIC National Convention in June? If you have sent in your registration information correctly, Camrose can be a place where everybody knows your name! Toni Walker, who is extremely proficient at using the " Event Registration" package on Rasmus, will enter all the important facts about your stay. From that will come mailing labels, name tags, room assignments, notes of special needs, and the cost of your stay. The Camrose team will know when to pick you up from the airport, if you are a delegate or a guest, meals at which to set you a chair, and if you have volunteered to help at the event.

So print clearly and send in that registration information. When your Bulletin of Reports arrives, read it carefully. Rasmus is not yet set up to read your mind and cast your votes. (What could the Emperor have done with such a database! Luke 2:1)

Some of the resources mentioned are available from the ELCIC national office. If you prefer to order those materials in print, phone 1.888.786.6707 extension 177 or 204.984.9177; email orders@elcic.ca; or fax your order to 204.984.9185 "Attn Orders Desk". Be sure to quote each item's title, code number and the quantity you need. You will be invoiced when the order is filled.
